An Act of Kindness Changed My Life

By Toh Jing Jing, Lifeline Family Church

A stranger I spoke to in a MRT train invited me to church and my life is changed.

I was on a MRT train home one day and wanted to understand a Chinese word I read. So, I asked the person sitting beside me.  He was kind enough to help me, together with a few students of his. This stranger was none other than Ps Adam Lim from Lifeline Family Church.

Accepting and knowing Jesus helped me a lot in my life. I am now able to find comfort in Jesus in any and every way.

We chatted and the group asked if I would be interested to go to church. I did and came to know Ivan, a youth leader. He shared Jesus with me and asked if I wanted to accept and trust Jesus. I decided to receive Jesus into my heart and Ivan prayed with me. Accepting and knowing Jesus helped me a lot in my life. I am now able to find comfort in Jesus in any and every way.

After six years, I stopped going to church because of my work schedules. But I have kept in touch with Ivan.  Around September 2020, some personal challenges happened. I felt very upset and did not know what to do. Talking with Ivan over the phone helped me stand on my feet again. He also asked me to go back to church, which I did.

In honoring God, I have decided to take a step faith in water baptism.

I have returned to church since then and going back to Jesus made my life better. I also joined a cell group and I thank God I found new friends and support in this cell group. I am more joyful now and learning to live in victory. I want to continue to put my trust and faith in Jesus. In honoring God, I have decided to take a step faith in water baptism.
