APCCS Lift Conference 2022 – Gear Up for the Next Season

By AG Times

From June 15 to 17, about 250 ministers from various Charismatic and Pentecostal churches gathered in Grace AG for a time of empowerment, equipping and lifting up for the next season.

We asked different pastors and ministers to share their personal takeaways from the sessions they attended.

Our leaders receiving a lifting touch from Heaven for the next season

Opening Plenary

Vision Revival!

There we were, seasoned and Next Generation ministers together. With the common denominator of undergoing a distressing COVID-19 season, but now, looking up for a lift from on high.

“Together let’s gear up for the next season!” Ps Yang Tuck Yoong, the opening plenary speaker encouraged all.

He continued to thunder his conviction of APCCS’ three God-given pillars – An alliance of Pentecostals and Charismatics, mandated to pray in Revival and to take care of the “small guy” – as keys for our nation’s renewal.

At the end of a packed altar session our hearts were set ablaze and spirits lifted in anticipation for revival in our nation! – Rev Kenny Koh, Grace AG

Fun activities to learn together

Day Plenary

Rev Dominic’s plenary was a timely reminder of the need for leadership to build faith in the community. Using the main text from Numbers 13, out of 12 leaders, only Caleb and Joshua gave a faith report. Despite the fortified cities and giants in the land (v 28), both had faith to take the land the Lord had promised. Leadership is about inspiring our people to move from a place of fear to a position of faith.

Another takeaway reminder for me is the place of leadership to provide the right perspective. The 10 leaders had a “grasshopper complex” as they were focused on the giants in the land. Rather, leaders need to guide our people to focus on God, in the midst of difficult circumstances. Every challenge is an opportunity to build faith and declare His faithfulness. – Ps Wong Yew Keong, Bethel AG

Application Sessions

  1. Build a Strong Staff Team

Calling, Competencies, Culture, Chemistry, Character, Compensation, Communication, Celebration and Care – These were the 9 C’s Ps Daniel Foo shared to build a strong staff team. In typical Ps Daniel fashion, he blazed through philosophical principles with practical tips, while layering every point with theological truths.

The rest of the session then was filled with questions after questions from hungry and curious learners, hoping to glean from the experience of this top leader of God. If not for time, we could have sat in the room for the whole day. Kudos to the organizers who planned a wondrous list of practical workshops for pastors to build up their churches. – Ps Jay Ong, Calvary AG

Our anointed speakers sharing their hearts
  1. Maximizing Social Media for Kingdom Impact

While we have been claiming heavenly authority within church walls, how have we leveraged earthly platforms to shape, claim and redeem earthly authority for the Lord? Ps Norman Ng, believes the modern-day Aeropagus of Acts 17 to be that of the social media space, where people listened, debate and discussed the latest ideas.

I felt a deep agreement in my spirit as he released a prophetic commissioning for Creative Pastors to arise – ones who would pastor and releases creatives into their calling; one that would pioneer, pastor, and partner with creatives to bring the gospel into media space. We pray and believe for the Lord to raise up churches and leaders who would enter the Aeropagus and creatively speak the gospel truth in love and show love in truth with strategies the world has never seen before, to fulfil the Great Commission. – Bro Jireh Tham, Eternal Life Assembly

Kingdom sharing and discussion

Closing Plenary

Drawing her text from Psalm 145:4, Rev Dr Naomi Dowdy reminded us that as current leaders, we are responsible to prepare the next generation of leaders. Our mandate is to pass on to them the mantle of passion, commitment and the Spirit’s anointing. While I may have a strong desire and the zeal to do so, I need to guard myself from being locked down in doing the routine, because that is when my passion will fade and I will automatically go back to my daily functions.

Another key takeaway for me is King David’s ability to see the potential in his fighting men. Those who were with him were distressed, in debt and discontented in their lives. Yet King David was able to transform them into his mighty men of valor. – Ps Wong Yew Keong, Bethel AG
