Celebrating God’s Goodness and Faithfulness at ACTS College

We rejoice with ACTS College as they celebrate their 45th Anniversary and 44th Graduation Exercise.

A. 45th Anniversary Dinner
By Lim Yan Ming

ACTS College celebrated her 45th Anniversary over a simple dinner at PARKROYAL at Kitchener Road on November 7, 2022. The college alumni had specially organized this inhouse celebration for the Board of Directors, faculty, alumni, students, and supporters of the college. We celebrated what God has been doing through the college, and indeed it is only by His grace and power that the college continues to do what it is called to do.

It was an honor and privilege to have Rev Dr Younghoon Lee, Senior Pastor of the Yoido Full Gospel Church, as our guest speaker. He shared with us the three important keys to an empowered ministry: (1) read the Word daily, (2) pray fervently and unceasingly, and (3) rely on the power of the Holy Spirit. This exhortation was followed by a short video that highlighted how ACTS college has had provided different precious and valuable experiences and lessons which helped to develop, shape, equip, and empower students to grow in their love for and service to God and His people.

The anniversary dinner was filled with much laughter and fun as old friends reunited and new friendships were forged. More precious memories were created as the three different “generations” of the college—BIS (Bible Institute of Singapore), AGBC (Assemblies of God Bible College), and ACTS College—gathered to take their respective group photos. We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to every participant; as well as the organizing committee for their time, efforts, and sacrifice in organizing this celebratory dinner. We also want to acknowledge and appreciate the dedication, hard and heart work, and faithful and Biblical impartation of our teachers over the years–past and present—that played a critical part in shaping who we are today. We look forward to what God will continue to do in and through ACTS College, and to more celebration to come. To Him be all the glory!

B. 44th Graduation Exercise
By Bay Jo-el

At ACTS College’s 44th graduation exercise on November 13, 2022, a total of 14 graduates received their academic diplomas, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees. The graduation service was held at Faith Assembly of God.

A time of worship

With the easing of social distancing measures, many were able to gather once again, in keeping with the strong communal spirit of the college. Friends, families, pastors, teachers, and guests were present to celebrate this momentous event with the graduates. They shared in their joy as a strong sense camaraderie was felt in the service.

Rev Dr David Lee, an alumnus who has been appointed as the new Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, addressed the graduates. He reminded them of the importance to have vision, vitality, voice, venture, and victory in each of their ministries in the days ahead.

The graduation ceremony also saw graduates Aggie Chan and Teo Hui Ling share their heart-felt testimonies during the Student Response. They gave a glimpse of how God sustained and carried them through their academic journey. Their reflections also offered a look into how the community had fostered their development as leaders and imparted them with Biblically sound theology.

As the graduates celebrate the closing of this chapter, may they continue to deepen their understanding and knowledge of God. Grace and peace be to them as they serve and fulfil God’s purposes in their various ministries.
