Zion Full Gospel Church Camp 2025 – Rise to Witness

By Zion Full Gospel Church

From June 5-8, 2025, Zion Full Gospel Church’s ‘Rise to Witness’ camp in Batu Pahat, Malaysia, featuring speakers Rev Dr Chevian Breedt, Rev Sophia Tan, and Ps Nigel Goh, inspired members across all congregations to embrace outward compassion and boldly witness Christ.

From June 5 to 8, 2025, members of Zion Full Gospel Church gathered at Katerina Hotel in Batu Pahat, Malaysia, for a time of spiritual renewal, fellowship, and worship at the annual church camp. This year’s theme, “Rise to Witness,” echoed the church’s vision for 2025—to be a people who rise above fear, comfort, and complacency to boldly witness Christ in word and deed.

The camp brought together members from all congregations—English, Chinese, Hokkien, and Children’s ministries—creating a vibrant and unified atmosphere. The ministry of God’s Word was central to the camp experience, with each speaker bringing a timely and powerful message.

Rev Dr Chevian Breedt, the keynote speaker for the English congregation, challenged campers to move from inward concern to outward compassion. Drawing from Mark 4:35 and Matthew 9:36, he reminded us that while the disciples were concerned about the storm, Jesus was calling them to cross over in faith. “God is calling upon us to go over to the other side,” he shared, “not to stay in concern, but to rise in compassion.” His sessions stirred hearts to abide in Christ, to be rebuilt by Him, and to become agents of restoration in a world that desperately needs hope.

Rev Sophia Tan, who ministered to the Chinese and Hokkien congregations, spoke passionately about the compassion of Christ and the call to rebuild lives and communities. Referencing Isaiah 61:4, she encouraged the church to surrender fears and limitations, and to embrace the new mantle God is placing upon His people. Her messages were marked by deep spiritual insight and a call to action—to see with new eyes and to love with renewed hearts.

The children were ministered to by Ps Nigel Goh, who led them through engaging sessions filled with worship, storytelling, and hands-on activities. The children learned what it means to be a witness for Jesus in their everyday lives, and their joy and enthusiasm were evident as they presented their theme song during the final session.

Throughout the camp, moments of worship, prayer, and reflection created space for God to move deeply in hearts. One reflection shared during the camp captured the essence of the theme, “The compassion of Jesus never left people where they were. In the same way, God has called us to move from inward concern to outward compassion. As God rebuilds us, we will rebuild others.”

Another camper reflected, “God’s miracle is not just in what He’s providing—a new location, a new church premise—but in how He’s rebuilding the church as people of purpose, renewing our hearts so we can continue to see the community with new eyes.”

As the camp came to a close, many left with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper desire to live out their faith boldly. The call to “Rise to Witness” is not just a theme—it is a movement of the Spirit, stirring the church to step into its calling with courage, compassion, and conviction.

To God be the glory for all He has done and will continue to do through His people.

We pray and ready ourselves to be bold witnesses for Christ
