March 2TIP: Igniting a Heart for the Harvest through Prayer and Training

By AG Singapore Editorial Team

On March 19, 2026, our ministers gathered to receive empowerment in evangelism from three distinct speakers.

The Assemblies of God Singapore recently gathered for a significant time of spiritual alignment and practical equipping at the latest 2TIP—Together in Prayer and Training session. This initiative, which brings together leaders and members from across the movement, focuses on the dual pillars of intercession and ministry development. The atmosphere was one of deep consecration as the body of Christ sought to sharpen its focus on the Great Commission.

Entering into the presence of God as the worship team leads.

Entering His Gates with Praise

The morning began in the presence of God, led by Rev Dr Eileen Lim of Thrive Church. Serving as the worship leader, Rev Dr Eileen ushered the congregation into a powerful time of praise and worship. The collective voices of the AG family set a spiritual foundation for the day, reminding all present that every ministry endeavor must first be birthed from a place of intimacy with the Father.

Following the worship, Rev Terence Ong from the Centre of New Life served as the moderator, skillfully guiding the transition into the training portion of the meeting. The theme for the session was timely and vital: Evangelism.

Strategic Mobilization: Rejuvenating the Local Witness

The first speaker, Rev Joshua Lye from New Horizon Church (NHC), shared a transparent and strategic look at how his local congregation navigated a season of renewal. Following a “State of the Church” survey in 2022, NHC identified an urgent need for a fresh evangelism strategy to grow and fulfill its call as a witness.

Rev Joshua emphasized a crucial truth: giving to overseas missions, while important, cannot substitute for local outreach. He addressed the common challenges churches face—lack of passion, ability, and confidence—and provided a roadmap for mobilization. This included vision casting, the creation of an evangelism strategy paper, and the appointment of dedicated leaders. “We must celebrate every small success,” he noted, “to create a new culture where the work of ministry is not just a duty, but a joy.”

As we share our thoughts, we understand one another’s perspectives.

The Spiritual Key: Seeking and Sacrifice

Bringing a prophetic perspective to the topic, Rev Sabrina Chow from Risen Christian Assembly shared a stirring message born out of a dream regarding Easter outreach. In her sharing, she identified two essential words that serve as the key to effective evangelism: Seek and Sacrifice.

She challenged the leaders to “Seek Him” first, as God provides methods that are uniquely tailored to each specific context. “All outreach must be birthed in prayer,” she reminded the congregation. Furthermore, she spoke on the cost of the harvest, referencing Isaiah 43:3-13. True evangelism requires sacrifice—of time, of comfort, and even the willingness to walk through disappointment—as we “exchange our lives for souls.”

Lifestyle Over Event: Building a Sustainable Movement

The final speaker, Rev Dr Wilson Teo from Grace Assembly of God, addressed the long-term sustainability of the evangelistic call. He urged a shift in perspective: moving away from seeing evangelism as a one-time event or merely “bringing a friend to church,” and toward viewing it as a journey of leading people into the Kingdom.

Dr Wilson encouraged churches to go “upstream” and focus on the lifestyle of the members. To build a sustainable movement, evangelism must become a natural rhythm of life rather than a programmed activity. This cultural shift ensures that the witness of the church remains consistent and impactful in a changing world.

Engaging the Next Generation

The session concluded with an insightful Q&A segment that touched on the nuances of reaching different demographics. A significant point of discussion was the engagement of second-generation Christians. The panel emphasized that while programs may adapt to fit various ages, the core need remains the same: the next generation must have a personal encounter with God through the preaching of the Word and the power of the altar call.

As the 2TIP session drew to a close, the participants left not only with practical strategies but with a renewed fire for the lost. The unity of the AG Singapore family continues to be a powerful testimony, as churches stand together to pray, train, and reach the nation for Christ.

Praying for one another strengthens our unity.
