Movement of Church Planting and Discipleship: The Roadmap to One Million Churches

On a beautiful Sunday morning in Zambia, a small group of believers gathers under a tree. There is no building, no signboard – only disciples on mission. They come with open Bibles, expectant hearts, and a shared hunger for Christ. Over time, the group grows. Soon, there are fifty people. A tent is erected, surrounding the very tree where they first met. What began as a simple gathering becomes a church that grows to 150 before multiplying again.

This scene is not unique. It is being repeated across villages, cities, and nations. Whether under a tree, in a home, a shopfront, or an office, the Church of Jesus Christ is still being planted the same way it always has been – not with structures, but with disciples.

This is the heartbeat of our vision: one million churches by 2033. It is not a call to build a million buildings, but to raise and release a million churches, communities of mission-driven disciples.

At its core, discipleship is becoming more like Christ – embracing His character, carrying His compassion, and committing ourselves to His mission. Discipleship carries within it an irresistible outward movement. A true disciple does not need to be persuaded to share Christ. They nurture new believers, sharpen one another, and burn with an unextinguishable fire to see the Kingdom of God advance.

This is why discipleship and church planting are inseparable. They are two sides of the same coin.

This is the heartbeat of our vision: one million churches by 2033. It is not a call to build a million buildings, but to raise and release a million churches, communities of mission-driven disciples.

Church planting is the fruit of a discipling culture.
Where disciples are made intentionally, churches are formed organically. Where discipleship is shallow, church planting becomes strained, mechanical, or unsustainable. However, when the Church invests deeply in making disciples, multiplication becomes inevitable. A strong church is not measured merely by attendance, budgets, or the size of its buildings, but by its capacity to reproduce itself.

Strong disciples form strong churches. Strong churches give birth to new churches.

Church planting is an accelerator of discipleship.
When leaders step out in faith to plant, something remarkable happens. A young team rises. Ordinary believers are thrust into extraordinary responsibility. Men and women who once served quietly now lead worship, shepherd people, teach Scripture, pray with authority, and carry vision. Church planting stretches faith, sharpens gifts, and accelerates spiritual growth in ways comfort never can.

In this way, church planting does not weaken the sending church; it strengthens it.

The early Church understood this well. They did not wait for perfect conditions, complete training, or abundant resources. They were Spirit-filled disciples who walked in faith and obedience to the Great Commission. Wherever they went, the Church emerged.

Church planting stretches faith, sharpens gifts, and accelerates spiritual growth in ways comfort never can.

To see one million churches planted by 2033, we must return to this missional simplicity. The vision will not be fulfilled by a few large churches alone. It will require every one of our churches to be healthy, multiplying churches, each one raising disciples who make disciples.

Globally, we have about 452,000 churches in the World Assemblies of God Fellowship. If every church multiplies itself once, the goal of one million churches is not out of reach. Beyond numbers, it’s about souls and Kingdom expansion. It’s about populating heaven and plundering hell. It’s about living with an urgency in our hearts that Christ may return, and this New Year is not another year for us to take for granted.

One million churches by 2033 is a God-sized vision. It demands dependence on the Holy Spirit, courage to let go of unknowns, and faith to believe that God uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary purposes.

May our movement be marked not by buildings, but by believers. Not by preservation, but by multiplication. And not by comfort, but by mission.

May we never lose sight of this simple yet powerful truth: when disciples are made, churches are planted. And when churches are planted, disciples are multiplied.

May we raise disciples who are not content to sit, but who are compelled to go – until every tree, every home, every city, and every nation is filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.

门训与植堂：迈向百万教会的路线图

在赞比亚一个风光明媚的星期天早晨，一小群信徒聚集在一棵树下，这里没有建筑物，没有告示牌——只有一群肩负使命的门徒。他们聚集在此，翻开圣经，满心期待，共同怀着对基督的渴慕。随着时间的推移，这个群体不断壮大。不久，人数已达到五十人，他们在最初相聚的那棵树周围搭起了帐篷。从最初的简单聚会，发展成人数增张到一百五十人的教会，之后又继续倍增。

这种场景并非罕见，在许多乡村、城镇和国家不断上演。无论是在树下、家中、商店还是办公室，耶稣基督的教会一直以同样的方式被建立起来——不是依靠建筑，而是依靠门徒。

这是我们异象的心跳：到了 2033 年要建立一百万间教会。这个呼召不是要建造一百万座建筑，而是要建立并开拓一百万间教会，即一群具使命感的门徒群体。

门徒训练（门训）的核心在于效法基督——接纳祂的品格，怀有祂的怜悯，并委身于祂的使命。门训本身就蕴含着一种不可抗拒的向外扩展的行动。真正的门徒无需被说服就会去分享基督，他们会栽培新信徒，互相激励，满腔热忱地渴望看到神的国度不断扩展。

这就是为什么门训和植堂密不可分，它们就如同一枚硬币的两面。

植堂是门训文化的成果。

有意识地造就门徒，就会促使教会自然形成。如果门训流于肤浅，植堂就会变得艰难、刻板或难以持续。但是，当教会大力投入门训时，倍增就必然产生。一间强大的教会，不仅仅是根据出席人数、预算或建筑规模来衡量，而是取决于其自我复制的能力。

强大的门徒会造就强盛的教会，强盛的教会会孕育新的教会。

植堂是门训的加速器。
当领袖们跨出信心的一步去植堂时，奇妙的事情就会发生。一支年轻的团队崛起，平凡的信徒肩负起非凡的责任。过去默默服侍的弟兄姐妹如今带领敬拜、牧养信徒、教导圣经、带着权柄祷告，并肩负异象。植堂能扩张信心、磨练恩赐，并以安逸心态无法达到的方式加速灵命成长。

这样一来，植堂并不会削弱发起教会的实力，反而会使它更为壮大。

早期教会对此有深刻的理解，他们不等待完善的条件、完备的培训或充足的资源。他们是被圣灵充满的门徒，以信心和顺服去执行大使命。无论他们去到何处，教会都会随之兴起。

要实现2033年建立一百万间教会的目标，我们必须回归到这个使命简单的本质。单靠少数大型教会是无法实现这个异象，它需要我们每间教会都成为发展健全、不断倍增的教会，每间教会培育的门徒都能去造就门徒。

世界神召会团契(World Assemblies of God Fellowship)目前拥有约452,000间教会遍布全球。如果每间教会能倍增一次，一百万间教会的目标并非遥不可及。这不仅是关乎数量，更关乎灵魂和天国的扩展。这关乎让天国子民繁衍，从而搜刮地狱。这关乎我们怀着基督再临的迫切心意而活，我们不能将新的一年视为理所当然的另一年。

到2033年拥有一百万间教会是一个如同神一般宏伟的异象。它需要我们仰赖圣灵，提起勇气放下未知，并坚信神会使用平凡人成就非凡的旨意。

愿我们的行动不以建筑为标志，而是以信徒为标志；不以保存为目标，而是以倍增为志向；不追求安逸，而是追求使命。

愿我们永远坚守这个简单而有力的真理：当门徒被造就，教会就被建立；当教会被建立，门徒就倍增。

愿我们培养的门徒不会安于现状，而会迫切地采取行动——直到每棵树、每户家庭、每座城市、每个国家都充满对主荣耀的认知。

祂的旨意，我们的使命，一百万间教会——携手共进！
